An invitation

September 21st, 2017

Mum has told me that we are having 2 open mornings in our amazing school & I’m feeling very excited about meeting lots of new friends & their parents.

Please come & join us on Wednesday 27th September between 9.30am & 11.30am. You will see examples of all the fabulous learning opportunities that my friends take part in every day. I’ll be in Mum’s classroom & I hope you’ll all come & say hello to me. All families, friends & neighbours are welcome.

On Saturday 30th September, school will be open again between 10am & 12 noon. There will be lots of exciting things for younger children to do in our Reception classroom whilst their Mummies and Daddies look round our fantastic school. All the teachers will be there to meet you & I’ll be there with Mum, walking around & I’m hoping to make lots of new friends.

I hope to see you all there.

Love Marty.

All about me

September 19th, 2017

My name is Marty & I’m the Marton Primary Academy dog. I was born on the 22nd June 2017 so I’m almost 13 weeks old now. My¬† doggy mum was a Cocker Spaniel & my dad was a Poodle. I had the very best start in life, being well-looked after at Longview Boarding Kennels & I grew to be a very happy & well-socialised puppy.

On 8th September, Mrs Southern & her husband came to collect me. I was sad to leave my Mum & siblings, but I knew from the first night in my new home that I would love it. I live with Mr & Mrs Southern, who are now my Mum & Dad. There is also another furry boy living here called Morty. Dad told me that he’s a cat. I keep trying to play with him but he’s not impressed with my attempts!

Every day, Mum takes me to school in her car & I absolutely love it. Sometimes I don’t want to get out of my bed but as soon as I see the front doors at school, I get very excited because I have lots of friends there & I know I’m going to have a fun-filled day. Everyone seems to love me & I really enjoy life at school.

Mum says that she’ll be helping me to learn something called ‘basic obedience’ until I’m one year old & after that I might get to do something called ‘therapy training’. I’m very bright & already respond to my name, sit when told & sometimes stay where I am but that mostly depends on whether Morty or the children at school are around. We’re also doing something called ‘house-training’.

Mum has told me that when I get a bit older I’ll be doing lots of interesting things to help the children. I might listen to them read to me; they can come & show me their best work; or if they are upset or worried about something they can talk to me about it. Mum has told me that I’m very good at listening so I’m looking forward to that.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my first blog.
